Lisa grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, but was born on a Airforce base in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Allen and Patricia Masters. She started her path in performing at age 5, studying ballet, jazz, and gymnastics. When she was sent to New York City for a modeling assignment, she turned to acting and appeared in sketches for The Food Network, HBO, independent films and national TV commercials, such as "English Leather". Later acting took a back seat when she signed a contract with Ford Models. While she enjoyed modeling, she felt under-stimulated, so she pursued her Masters degree at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, but was pulled back to acting when she booked a role in The Seige(1998), directed by Edward Zwick . She was completely cut out of the movie, but she returned to acting. Her talent was stretched when she was cast as the stuttering, awkward "Dawn" in the award winning comedy, "All In The Timing: The Universal Language" produced as a benefit for the Victims of 9/11 at The Connelly Theater, and later understudied the lead role in Off-Broadway's comedy "Game Show". Her first major film role came when she played Carol Wainwright in The Stepford Wives (2004) directed by Frank Oz. Other credits include Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Ugly Betty, and It's Complicated (2009).
