Lauren Clinton, a native of southern California, began singing in the church children's choir at the tender age of three years old. At five years old, Lauren attended a summer theater camp, discovered her love for acting, and began performing in local plays. When Lauren turned nine years old, she asked her parents "When can I start my career?" That's when Lauren began her professional acting career. She was fortunate to have been cast in a few critically acclaimed theatrical productions, one of which was nominated for the LADCC award, and won a Back Stage West Garland award. Her cast performed the opening number for the 2004 LA Ovation Awards Show held at the historical "Orpheum Theater" in Los Angeles.After building her resume with ten short films, and eleven on stage performances, Lauren was cast in her first major motion picture; Walt Disney Picture/Walden Media's "Bridge to Terabithia". Lauren plays the complex role of Janice Avery. Her character is the story's nemesis. Janice Avery is the misunderstood bully that terrorizes the younger kids. Lauren was recently nominated for a 2007 C.A.R.E. Award.Lauren loves to travel with her family and spend time with her close friends. She loves snowboarding, and snorkeling. Her favorite pastimes are reading, and singing, and has recently been in the recording studio. Lauren is most comfortable when she is performing. She continues to sing with her church choir, performing for children, and the elderly.
