Bethany Ashton Wolf began her career in Los Angeles as an actress but soon found herself co-writing and co-producing the controversial indie film, Don's Plum, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. After that she went on to write and produce the short film, The Burgundy Room, winning numerous awards on the festival circuit. Her next project was a SAG experimental called First and Last in which she wrote, directed, and produced, followed by her short film, Wait, which was screened at the Waterfront Film Festival to a standing ovation.Little Chenier was Wolf's directorial feature debut. In 2007, it won 21 awards on the festival circuit, including 9 Best Picture Awards, 4 Audience Awards, 3 International Best American Film Awards, and 2 Best Director Awards. It opened theatrically in her home state to sold-out screenings, followed by theatrical runs in New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Austin, Jackson, Pensacola, Lake Charles, and Baton Rouge, bringing the film in at #7 nationwide on its per screen average as reported by Variety magazine. It was lauded "the best film in Park City in 2007" by the Emerald Review, described as "commanding, fluid, and potent" at the Austin Film Festival, and Movie Pulse Magazine deemed Wolf's work "a heartfelt masterpiece". Wolf sold her next two screenplays and is directing both in 2008 and 2009.
